Overview
A small state at the Bab el-Mandeb strait whose port lives on transit cargo for Ethiopia, linked by road and the electrified Addis Ababa to Djibouti railway opened in the late 2010s. The Doraleh terminals and new multipurpose port expanded capacity, and naval bases of several powers crowd its coastline.
