Overview

Settled in 1623 on Cape Ann, Massachusetts, Gloucester has sent fishermen to the Grand Banks and Georges Bank for four centuries. The Fishermens Memorial cenotaph lists thousands of men lost at sea, and the town inspired the book and film The Perfect Storm. Groundfish quotas have shrunk the fleet.
