Formed by merging Ningbo and Zhoushan in 2006, the busiest port on Earth by cargo tonnage, moving over 1.3 billion tonnes a year for more than a decade. Container volume ranks third globally. Iron ore, crude oil, and grain terminals serve the Yangtze Delta alongside vast container yards at Beilun and Daxie.
